What kind of practice this is
This is a medical office, not a weight loss center, not a spa, and not a supplement storefront. The distinction matters.
Obesity medicine deals with the causes, prevention, and treatment of the overweight and obese patient. You are evaluated, treated, and followed by a health care professional who knows your history — not handed between staff, and not handed to an algorithm.
A bariatrician makes a study of the professional literature and works to pass the needed education along to the patients who voluntarily come for help. We do that essentially one on one. What is really needed is a global educational program large enough to turn people around — but considering all the factors, commercial interests included, the best any single practice can do for now is one patient at a time. In that way we can at least assist the people who are motivated to learn and to make permanent behavior changes.

Dr. Campbell ran a very active solo family medical practice in Southeast Missouri for forty years before establishing Arnold Medical Weight Loss, LLC. He has directed the clinic’s bariatric program since.

Every patient is seen by Dr. Campbell or a health care professional, with administrative support in the office.
From Arnold to St. Louis
The clinic takes its name from Arnold, Missouri, where it opened and spent its first decades treating patients from across Jefferson County and the St. Louis metro area. The name stayed; the address changed.
Today the practice is located at 4163 Crescent Dr., St. Louis, MO 63129, and now sees patients across Missouri by telemedicine as well as in person.
In the years since we opened, our patients have lost a combined total of more than 200,000 pounds.
